About this work
Built in oil on linen, Evening Lawn No. 8 extends June Alder's interest in greenery softening the hard edges of suburban space. The surface is deliberately layered, allowing shifts in color and edge to stay visible rather than resolving into a polished finish.

Artist statement
I paint places that might otherwise disappear into routine. The goal is not to document them faithfully, but to keep the sensation of being there while light is actively changing the scene.
